Imitum method – learn Czech phrases

The most effective way, to learn the Czech language is the easiest. Just realize the way how a little child learns his or her mother tongue. The child simply listens to the adults’ speech and tries to imitate it. That’s how you learned your native language, and you will learn Czech as well.

With the Imitum method, you will learn to understand and speak fluently in Czech, without any swotting up of words or grammar. With classic swotting, you use your mechanical memory, which, however, weakens with age. When learning with the Imitum method, you will naturally remember words and grammar within Czech phrases and sentences. Also, you use your logical memory, which even improves with age.

The Imitum method will teach you how to understand, speak and primarily think in Czech

Understand

you can learn only by listening to natural, fast Czech of native speakers with different pronunciations.

You can study passively, too. Play the Czech for foreigners course to your headphones, for example, and listen to the sound feature of Czech while doing some different activity.

Speak

the fastest way to learn is to imitate native speakers and to practice the pronounced expression carefully.

You will reach the communicative Czech rather quickly only by speaking and training.

Think

means to use Czech without thinking in your mother tongue. It follows that grammatically correct translations are a widespread mistake in other methods.

The Imitum method has literal translations and thus moves you one step higher.

John Amos Comenius
  • no swotting up of words
  • mainly listen and imitate when learning languages
  • always link new information to something (picture, sound, story)
Paul Pimsleur
  • if children can learn a language easily without knowledge of grammar, adults can do it too
  • the American FBI and CIA organisations teach according to Pimsleur
Georgi Lozanov
  • the more senses perceive information, the better is remembered
  • the result of his research is “superlearning” and the “method of suggestopedia” which is recommended by UNESCO

Imitum - science in practice

The listening Imitum method combines pedagogical (J. A. Comenius), linguistic (Paul Pimsleur), psychological and neurological (Georgi Lozanov) knowledge with modern multimedia technologies.

Thanks to this, the Imitum method will teach Czech really everyone – regardless of talent or time busyness. Just study every day for at least 20 minutes, and you will be able to speak Czech decently in a year.

You can study the interactive online Czech courses using the Imitum method on a computer anytime and anywhere. The use is very intuitive, and you don’t need to have any special knowledge of the Internet or computers. Just choose a course and start by listening to Czech using the Imitum method.
